NB2 Kegox, the Kevin Peat Dragon

50% of Citadel profits from the sale of this miniature were donated to the 'Electric Bed Appeal' for the Cameron Ward of the Orpington General Hospital.

According to Rick Priestley on Facebook in June 2021: "Kevin was a young Citadel fan who, unfortunately, suffered from an incurable fatal illness. I believe his parents got in touch and explained that his wish was to have his own dragon 'Kegox' which I seem to remember was his nick-name. That was why it was sculpted. If I remember correctly by the time the model was finished poor Kevin was pretty near the end and one of our team had to take it to the hospital to show him - the original model - I don't think we had time to mould it."

This was confirmed by Kevin's sister: "He was 15 when he died of a brain tumour and the model was commissioned for him by Citadel Miniatures whilst he was ill in hospital but sadly he never got to see the final product. He was very into Dungeons and Dragons and said he always wanted a double headed dragon so my Dad contacted them. The name came from the fact I couldn’t pronounce his name when I was young so called him Keggie."

A sad story about the origin of a wonderful Dragon, but what a marvellous memorial.
