These figures were part of a batch of new blister packs released in late 1986 and early 1987, a few months before Citadel lost the licence. It's surely no coincidence that they hit the market at the same time as the 'CH02 Chaos Warriors' range, also designed by Naismith, Goodwin & Morrison. These figures are even marked 'Chaos Warrior' on their slotta-tabs. This tactic was used with other blisters, including ADD32 Dwarf Villagers (Trish Morrison's D6 Dwarf Villagers), ADD24 Lords of Battle (F2 Lords of Battle), ADD40 Men-at-Arms (F4 Men-at-Arms) and ADD41 Lawful Fighters (F2 Paladins, the ADD41 figures have 'Paladin' marked on the slotta-tab).
Unsurprisingly, many AD&D fans felt somewhat cheated by these releases, and it was no surprise that the writing was on the wall for the ADD range!
The pack of Evil Fighters consisted of a trio of heavily armed and armoured warriors, one with a two-handed sword, one with a huge, two-handed flail, and another armed with a crossbow. There no variants in this code.
Pose 1. This Evil Fighter is armed with a huge, curved two-handed sword and wears a suit of heavy, stylised plate armour with a narrow, blade-shaped helmet.
Pose 2. This character wears a combination of chainmail and heavy plate armour pieces (with an embossed hammer and sickle on his left shoulder pauldron!), with full-face helmet. His weapon of choice is an enormous two-handed flail.
Pose 3. The third Evil Fighter wears plate armour and carries a heavy crossbow. Enough about these three, you can probably tell they're not my favourites!
